WELCOME TO SABR
United, we work to see that the Rotman School of Management at UofT is a place where we value and respect the inherent worth of each individual regardless of our differences.
Our mission is to achieve social equity by tackling issues and challenges related to systemic racism, including anti-Black racism and racism/discrimination against Indigenous people and People of Color.
OUR GOAL
To create an equitable learning environment for individuals of all identities, abilities, and backgrounds – with a specific objective of Black, Indigenous & People of Color (BIPOC) feeling empowered, heard, and safe in their pursuit of academic and career success.
WHY DOES ROTMAN NEED SABR?
Our society is at an inflection point of social justice and change. Sparked by the killing of George Floyd in the USA, communities around the globe have begun to self-reflect on how systemic racism has been allowed to foster. Unfortunately, Rotman is not immune from these issues and we have witnessed the exclusion of radicalized individuals through lack of representation of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) individuals in all aspects of the MBA program.

The urgent need to disrupt the status quo and combat these problems is the foundation for the establishment of the Students Against Anti Black racism. SABR will lead the fight for change by providing a platform for students to actively engage and participate in initiatives that drive social justice and equity here at Rotman
