WHO ARE WE
We support dialogue about racism within the Rotman community to engage and
unite the community in actions that will advance racial justice. Further, we are committed to
tolerance, sensitivity, understanding, and mutual respect everywhere within our community,
and to provide a welcoming place for one and all. Through our educational mission, we aim to
establish ambitious goals as we strive to increase diversity at all levels of the school.
OUR VISION
A Rotman where we appreciate, respect and value
individuals from all races, ethnic backgrounds, ages, genders, religions, sexual orientations,
disabilities, economic or veteran status, other diverse perspectives and individual
differences.
OUR PROMISE
The mandate of the Organization is to:
• Ensure that the Rotman faculty and Senior leadership team is held accountable in the fulfillment of its commitments, both short and long-term, to combat anti-Black racism and
discrimination against all other minorities
• Provide a platform for ALL students to actively engage and participate in the pursuit of effecting social equity and change at Rotman and the broader community
• Build Allyship engagement and education for students to learn about the destructive impact of systemic racism on marginalized groups and unlearn implicit or unconscious biases
• Liaise with the Rotman Administration to design more outreach and service-learning programming to connect students with equity-seeking and/or marginalized communities (e.g.
BIPOC, LGBTQ+) in and outside of Rotman
• Create a safe space for victims of discriminations and racism to share these incidents in confidence and advocate for a resolution
